I was doing a search and just found this forum. I wish I'd found these messages several years ago. It would have saved me many hours of trying to find a way to do things that someone else has already posted a great technique.

I'm a router addict. I carve gunstocks using a 2 1/2 hp router. It's mounted in the ultimate router jig. My gunstock duplicator is a commercial product that I bought 3 years ago and love using it. It weighs 800 to 1000 lbs and is 115" in length and I have to either run it standing up or sitting on a very tall stool. After I have 10 posts, I'll put up the link to show what it looks like. It does more than duplicate gunstocks. I use it to mill mortises and I use the rails as a non-flexable support rail system for my router ski to flatten large slabs. The throat of my sawmill is 23" and my planer only does 13" boards.
