DW 618 won't power on

Hi folks,
I'm hoping you can help me out with what is probably a simple problem and can be chalked up to a rookie user. I have got a brand new DW618 that I have mounted into a Wolfcraft table. I've never used the router before. I'm bypassing the switch in the table and plugging it directly into an outlet (that works) in my garage, but when I flick the toggle it won't come pn. The cord is in and locked, the locking lever is secure and I have a bit securely fasted in the collet. Is there a failsafe somewhere that is preventing it from coming on because perhaps I've done something wrong?
Any thoughts you may have would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Derek

I do not have thios router so I am venturing where I should not. I do see the following in an online manual that I found:

Detachable Cord Set (Fig. 1)
Insert the detachable cordset plug so that the key (W) is aligned with the notch (V) in the
socket. Turn the plug clockwise one quarter turn to lock.

Are you sure the cord is inserted and seated correctly?

Hi

Just a long shot

"The unique switch and cordset configuration allows you to keep the switch in your right or left hand..."

Did you pull the switch ..you may need to tape the switch down to the on position..

Thanks all

Thanks for the quick responses. After seating and re-seating several times yesterday, I tried again today and low and behold I have ignition. I assumed that the cord would not move to the locked position unless seated properly, but it appears I was wrong.
Again, I appreciate the quick answers folks. I'll try to add a little more value next time I post.
