Hi All!
I am hoping to get some guidance on drawings. I use Galaad to make my intial drawings for items that are usually smaller in size such as 12x45 mm. I am unable to extrude my drawings using Galaad and would like advice on which program would be possible and how to change the settings in order to open the drawings. I am not proficient with CAD, so i apologize ahead of time for what would be a very simple solution.

Welcome to the Forum. I think the CNC users are likely to have answers for you. There is a special area for CNC, and the users with most experience don't always check posts every day.

Hope Santa was good to you.

Usually the problem of not being able to extrude a drawing is because the drawing has some corners that are "open" (not joined together) or sometimes because some lines overlap.
Check all the corners and make them "coincident" and connected!
Then you should be able to extrude.

Good suggestion, Tom. Moved to the CNC subforum.

You could look at Blender, which is a free program that will allow you to create 3D models from 2 and 2.5D vectors. In the paid category, Vectric Aspire is very good - pricey, but very good. You can use their trial version for free to determine if it is what you are looking for. You may want to look at the Carveco offerings. They are subscription based. I'm not sure if they can do what you want, though.
