Remember..."One day at a time."
Nice score, though.

I have vague recollections of similar looking things James, way back in high school circa 1945-1950! Then came the machine age. I presume that your forthcoming holiday in the States has been reduced by one day!

Nah, Harry.

Holiday is still on.

The tool sale was organised by the Traditional Tools Group, of which I am a member, so there was a good collection of old used tools (some junk as well).

I used some Christmas money - so no holiday money was spent.

The No6 Stanley plane was $A60 and the spoke shave $15.

But don't get me started on the video camera -----.:':)':)'(.

Splurged on a new Canon 550D......

Just how do you people do it ??? I hear over & over,," I went to this sale and you should see what all I got, take this,,,,,,,and the price of the tools, oh John you should have been there"

Yet when I go on one of these winding thru town safari, trecks.

Where as time after time, I waste gas & shoe soles, crowds, screeming & running amock kids, junk that should have been thrown away decades ago, a sign sayin, "tools" means, a bent wood handle screwdriver ,a worn out saw blade and a rusted hoe. One lane park a mile away street traffic, several drive ways full of MDF furnature, a lamp they bough 20 years ago, when some sold out lower end motel when under....... need I go on ???

Do you all have a good find winding willow stick, a crystal ball the glows, a jenny in a bottle, does you vehicle wheel start to head towards the curb and a other wise hidden glowing LED sign apears on the dash, "stop here", pay in to secret a pre screening subscriber survice,,has this little voice whispering saying , "To day is the day" ?????

The sale was arranged by "the traditional Tools Group", so there was a range of reputable suppliers there. I will let you know when the next one is on later this year.....LOL

James, those are really nice! I tried recovery a while back and just didn't have the will power to pass on quality tools. Just do it in moderation, and never operate an automobile or heavy equipment while under the influence of nice hand tools - it's a recipe for disaster...

John; my neighbour's husband recently passed away, and I helped her get the dble. car garage worth of tools and material organized and sold. Couldn't give most of it away.
Sure, as you said, a ton of old screwdriver type stuff, but also a lot of brand new stuff, some still in the box. The few guys that were interested made out like bandits!!!
She had a 100' 12/3/1 neoprene extension cord with aftermarket plug and cap. There was a bad spot a couple of feet from one end so she threw it out...yes, I rescued it: I may be senile but I'm not crazy. ;)

Ah Ha, a kindred soul, some one that no drought has walked in my shoes,,,,,,Ah it must be spring when you here that beckoning call from your love one saying," Hey why don't we go garage sailing ", as those newly found golden treasures that you caried home with such care, & siting there looking for something to be taken down, before they can take their rightfully place. In this vogue of whats cool now days called, ~~~Recycling.
