Hello fellow woodworkers! Well, here is my introduction.

In the last year I have gotten the bug (and opportunity) to get back into woodworking. My father passed on a wealth of knowledge, but because of a variety of personal and professional circumstances, I have not undertaken a serious project in 20+ years! I started by picking up some inexpensive tools (Skill, Makita and Dewalt mostly) and started getting my hands dirty again. Then on a recent visit, my youngest son (of 6 kids and an aspiring woodworker), asked me why I hadn't looked at Festool? I said Fes what? His question was not an unusual because I am known as a person who settles for nothing less than the best. After some quick research, I picked up a TS55 track saw and the rest is history. I am now the proud owner of a garage full of Festool tools, tables and containers (sorry, Systainers). These tools are a joy to work with.

The CMS router table is what brings me to the forums. Because I am only "allowed" 1/2 of our 2 car garage, I have been looking for creative ways to store and use my tools in a very limited space. I purchased the VL model of CMS...so that means it always needs an MFT table with it. No biggie, but it eliminates the opportunity to use Jerry Work's flip up CMS router table cart design. For now, I have been leaving it setup. But with recent additions of a new table saw, band saw and lathe, I am again seeking ways to get "10 pounds of stuff in a 5 pound bag". I am currently designing mobile work benches designed for specific use (stations) to replace my current fixed workbenches (which are just simple 2x4 framed, MDF topped surfaces).

Look forward to seeing and reading all your ideas.

Oh, so you got bit by the Festool bug too. I can't help you on your garage problem. I am in the process of re-doing my "man cave" so I can get a MFT table. I can't get more toys until I can fit it in. I have been using the TS55 a lot on a remodeling project. Welcome to the gang of dust and noise makers. Malcolm / Kentucky USA
