Hi guys,
First projects are for my girlfriend,
1) I made my girlfriend a cajon (box drum) that you sit on and beat on the front of it. I used simple ply wood for the construction. The lever on the side adjusts the distance the snare is from base thus changing the sound.
2. My girlfriend said, :I would rather you get a log from outside and write our names on it, than get me jewelry" . She doesn't know I've started woodworking. My response to that was: buy a necklace and give her this too

Thats is a good start,Welcome to the forum.

That is a good ideas I wish I would have thought of that for my wife. Then she could have sat and beat on that drum instead of me. while I read my paper and played with the dog.

Even if she does not say :

Seen some similar (Spanish) boxes around but they had no lever.

Is that the drum that has a "string" inside to give you a little of the snare sound?
