That is a a remarkable box I particularly like the Baltic Birch edges shown as you've finished them.
Beautiful box.
This is the other side.
Just to make a change i made the laminations at 45 degrees.

Starting from the middle is walnut, birch ply, cherry, more ply and bubinga.
Front and back is a layer of walnut, and then the drawer fronts are bubinga and beech.

Very, very nice.
Superb design and craftsmanship. Thanks or all the different views of your elegant box.
Exceptionally well done. Your projects are always a pleasure to see and the descriptions are very helpful.
Thanks all. This one has caused a stir among my family as both my wife and my sister are mildly OCD, and cannot abide things out of square or not symetrical.
They keep trying to turn the box so that the layers are horizontal, rather than at 45 degrees.
Cant be done as unlike the last couple of boxes, it isnt on a cradle, the feet are part of the box.

I told them my new catchphrase
"Art should not be comfortable"
LMAO!

LOL! That is really funny, Bob! And art is meant to be uncomfortable! LOL

Hey! Buy them that coat rack we have all been talking about...talk about feeling uncomfortable! On second thought, don't; it may drive them crazy! LOL
