@Bob Adams - I like the box Bob, but I'm not so sure about the "ended up writing them a cheque" part. Being retired law enforcement myself, I especially like the layout of the contents.
Gary Rogowski box
I was going to make several of these boxes for the women in my life for Christmas. So I made a prototype and showed it my wife. She has a better memory than me and said "you've been there done that come up with something else". Ended up writing them checks, and made the box for me....
Since this was a prototype I didn't pay attention to grain matching but I think it still ended up fairly nice. Since the box was for me, I didn't care for the Asian influenced handle, (to feminine for the planned contents). I managed to stuff about 35yrs of my 44yr law enforcement career into the box.
