I was going to make several of these boxes for the women in my life for Christmas. So I made a prototype and showed it my wife. She has a better memory than me and said "you've been there done that come up with something else". Ended up writing them checks, and made the box for me....
Since this was a prototype I didn't pay attention to grain matching but I think it still ended up fairly nice. Since the box was for me, I didn't care for the Asian influenced handle, (to feminine for the planned contents). I managed to stuff about 35yrs of my 44yr law enforcement career into the box. The wood is sapele, General Finish ARS. You can see Rogowski's build here: https://www.thewoodwhisperer.com/videos/jewelry-box-with-gary-rogowski/

@Bob Adams - I like the box Bob, but I'm not so sure about the "ended up writing them a cheque" part. Being retired law enforcement myself, I especially like the layout of the contents.
They are all grown women, that over the years I have made jewelry boxes, hope chests, wedding chests, etc...I ran out of imagination, they all got get what they wanted, not what I chose.

I can't get the multi-quote this to work. The magazines were loaded for the picture only, like me that gun has been retired. The interior foam is a structural foam that I buy off of amazon, comes in 24" sq sheets, 2" thick. I can't find the link right now. I use it on the inside of my shop drawers for saw blades, router bits etc... cut on the band saw easy to work with, it is similar to the foam you find in camera bags.
