Hi everyone. I am back. Apologies for the delay in replying to all the welcome messages. Life has totally got in the way lately so no time for the computer really. I am from ....... Newcastle NSW AUSTRALIA!
Routing and woodworking is my blood I guess. My father was an Industrial Arts Teacher - at least that's what it was called back then! Woodwork, Metalwork, Tech Drawing etc. I learnt heaps from him.
I haven't really done much with it for ages. Though finally decided it was time to set up my own Man Shed. I felt the calling to play with timber again.
It is a slow progress due to available funds, but have begun with building a router table and table saw, oh and a bit of a dust extraction system and a drill press.
Space is limited as I still have to be able to get the car in shed when not playing, and I have designed everything to be higher than normal due to some ongoing back issues. I came up with the idea of up-cycling some old cupboards and putting them on wheels so it can all be rolled away to allow the car back in the shed. Due to available space I also made sure the router table can me used as an out-feed table for the table saw and vice versa.
I will post some pics.
I have hit a dead end with my router table and can't raise the bit high enough. I will post about that issue in another thread. Can someone please recommend the correct thread to post that in?
Cheers and thanks for the welcome.
