Hi Fred and welcome. Most routers you have to extend the base until it drops out of the plunge tubes. My Hitachi V2 has removeable plugs on the end of the tubes you just unscrew but I think removing the base is more common. Take the black plastic sub base off first and check to see if yours has the plugs. One word of caution. Your plunge lock probably has a small brass plug that is between the column and the end of the plunge lock screw. The other routers I've had apart had one so chances are yours does too. When you take the base off hold the plunge lock side down so that that little plug doesn't fall out.
