It looked like a good deal, so I ordered them. Free shipping to your door step 5 tools,2 batteries + charger and a tote bag for the lot. They arrived yesterday, and I am impressed. I will be trying them out soon.

Pretty good deal! Good start on the collection. Just keep adding whenever there's another sale and you'll have it when you need it. Get the lifetime warranty and look for another battery or two when there's a sale. You did good.

That's a pretty good price for the set. I paid that for a Milwaukee drill and impact driver but I got a free circ saw (tool only) with the package. I didn't think I would use it that much but I'm learning to love it. For lots of jobs it's plenty good enough and no cord in the way.
It seems to me Pat Warner was quite impressed by the Rigid trim router. I've looked at their tools and they seem pretty good. Just waiting for more feedback from guys like you Herb.

That's an excellent price. I checked our local HD online (Ontario) and they're selling the same package for $499. We don't get the breaks up here in Canada.
My problem is that every time I see a good sale on a tool I don't have, suddenly I "need" it.

If you like DeWalt systems some stores, Coastal Farm and Ranch (local to Oregon) for example sell power tools without batteries. Handy if you are invested in a particular power pack.

It is easy to register, just takes time and a lot of numbers to type (8 items X 2 no.+ P.O.#), all 7-14 digits long. and then they make you check them twice, Whew, my one finger was numb when I got through.
I noticed the reciprocating saw takes the same blade as the Millwaukee, which is standard I presume. It also 2 speeds, and straight,or oscillating cut, and blade can be rotated front to back.
The circular saw takes the standard 7 1/4" X 5/8 arbor blade.
All the tools have work lights too.
I will give a better review after I use them today.

Today I tried the sawzall and it works really good on 3/4" plywood . I found the saw has a variable speed trigger, not a 2 speed like I said previously.
The only problem I found was with the blade shoe. It has a pin that pulls out to shift the shoe from straight down and up to forward or back. the pin pushes in to lock and pulls out to release. Well the vibration of the blade causes it to push out ,thus letting the shoe to move to the back and forward positions. I might have to replace with a small bolt and wingnut to lock it in place. No biggy. I do like the quick change feature of the blade, I can easily remove the blade before I put the saw back into the bag.
I tried the circular saw on a piece of western maple 1 X 8 and it quit half way through the cut,weak battery. It was the same one I had on the sawzall , right out of the kit. So I put it on to charge and put the other battery that came with the tools and it walked right through the board and I cut the other end no problem. The blade that came with it was a Ridgid blade, gave a very nice smooth no tear out cut.

Two things to be aware of:
-Register the batteries as well as the tools, if you didn't already.
-Don't let dead Li-Ion batteries sit without charging.
If they sit for too long they won't take a charge. At that point you'll have to hope you remembered to register the batteries.
