Brilliant.

 

We go all out for Halloween here. There is a campground with about 150 sites where all the campers decorate. It is near the large city of Little Rock and as such gets a LOT of kids visiting. Lots of fun!

We built a broken pirate ship bow complete with cannons that shoot (fog machine smoke, lights and sound effect). This year adding a ship mid-section with ships wheel and skeleton crew (pun intended). I even go so far as to not shave for a month for effect LOL....

Even with all we do there are some groups that have even larger setups. One group actually built a good-sized haunted house out of several canopies and tarps. Complete with the classic operating room and the chainsaw scenes...Amazingly it all goes up in one and comes back down the next!

 

That is pretty cool. Halloween is my favorite holiday. A lot of fun.

What would you use to make it? 3D printer?

 

I made both a cnc pattern and 3d print model from the 3d model.

The second image is the cnc pattern I made that can be carved using our cnc machines.

The 3d print came out pretty good. I printed it 5" across but still needs sanding, sealing and paint.

And don't forget you can combine the grey scale height map patterns relatively easily using Blender3d or 2d graphics software. I prefer using 3d programs because I am not very good with 2d graphics beyond the basics.

 

OK Oscar, that skeletal hand reaching out from the grave is definitely spooky. And a good example of how you might assemble different shapes into a final image. Cool.

Started modeling the haunted house. Still needs a ton of work to add all the details. In addition to the cnc pattern I am going to try to make a 3d print model from it as well.
