I noticed he utilized a hefty (4"x21??) belt sander to trim the work. I remember when such sanders were a staple in shops and always reminded me of the 1930's/art deco steam locomotives.

Herb Stoops: and if I recall, those ol' Porter-Cable 4x21 belt sanders, like the old Mack trucks had a chain drive.
