Hello and Happy Anniversary to you all,

My name is Art and this is my first posting. I've been watching the workshop and reading the forum postings for a few weeks now, and learning. Thanks to Bob and Rick I had my first experience with a slot cutter last weekend and it worked very well. I needed to join the edges of two pieces of 1/2" plywood with a spline and made a rabbet on the bottom of a wood fence to hold the plywood edges down to get an accurate cut.

Although I've been piddling around with handheld power tools for years, it's only in the past few months that I invested in my first table saw, chop saw, Ryobi table mount router, and a plunge router (DW621). Even that little bit makes a world of difference in the quality of the work. It's hard to get things sqare, or rip a board decently with a circular saw.
