Hello, and how do your replace brushes on craftsman router model 315-1751

Does anyone know how to replace the brush assembly on a craftsman router model number 315-1751? I checked the parts blowup on the craftsman website and it is unclear what part I must take off in order to reach the brushes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mike. Welcome to our little corner of the 'net.

Is that the complete model number? In any event, you have to remove the top cover of the router to expose the brushes.

No need to remove anything but the 2 screw in caps that hold the brushes.. one on either side of the router!

Really? The 3 older Craftsman routers that I have had occasion to take apart have ALL had to remove the top to access the brushes!

Maybe in yours (newer one?) you don't have to!

Maybe it's like my Porter Cable and does have the threaded plugs that hold the brushes in!
