I am a professional Bass guitar designer / builder based in Sweden. I use routers basically everyday and haven’t thought much of them. Stumbled upon this forum and it’s marvellous to meet likeminded. I hope to learn tons of valuable info and hopefully share my experiences. Google Unicornbass to see what I do.

My now expanding “collection” of routers include: Atlas Copco ofse1000, Dewalt DW625 under table, some crap Ryobi doing a job not requiring micro precision. Going to buy a few more routers and looking at DeWalt D26204K (or is it dw 611?! Dewalt nomenclature is for me bewildering.

Hi Unicorn (is that how you want us to refer to you?) and welcome to the forum. In North America we have the DW 611 router which is a small trim sized router. That specific model may not be available to you as it is made for our power system which 110 volt single pole, 15 amp, 60 cycle current. Almost everywhere else is different than ours so some of the router makers use different model numbers for the models that have to run on different power systems than ours. I don't know if DeWalt is one of them. I know Bosch and Hitachi use different model numbers. Quite a few of us have a 611 and it's a nice little router to use.

Hey, N/A; welcome! It's great to have new, experienced, router enthusiasts join. The new inexperienced members come here for safe, workable solutions to their questions and not all of us have a long history with routers, or at least not over a wide ranging knowledge base.
Please fill out something about yourself in your profile...just click on your username over on the Left. It'll open up a menu for you. By putting in Sweden, it'll clear the US location. Makes more sense when other members respond to your comments (Metric vs Imperial for example....there are members here from all over the World).

Welcome aboard. As you'll hear repeatably we really like pictures of your tools and work. You did stumble upon a good deal of knowledge and skill as will be evident in a short while. The skill level here goes the full gamut. You'll like find many ways to contribute and find that this group is always curious. When you get a chance please fill in your profile info so we have a name to call you by as for now it shows as N/a.

Welcome to the forum! When you get a minute, as has been mentioned, complete your profile with location and first name to clear the N/a in the side panel.

I just finished my first acoustic guitar last year and want to one day build a bass (my son plays). You can add your website to your signature line if you want.

We're looking forward to seeing your work and having you jump in on some discussions.

Glad you decided to join the fun. There are a couple of members who also make guitars, so I hope they find your post. I also find the naming of tools to be strange and confusing, particularly renaming similar tools because they're built for different countries, currents, measures. Makes it harder to work out tool problems or suggestions or questions.

Welcome Unicorn,
We are getting more new members from your beautiful country. As others said photographs are worth more than words so please show us your workmanship.

I worked for SSAB and spent time in Oxsolusund and it was very nice and friendly people.

Haha! Thanks! My real name is Christian Olsson but anything’s fine by me. :)

The 611 goes under 26204 model. Love the precision of the 625 model and hope to find that in the smaller model.

Very nice work, Christian! Looking forward to seeing more.

I have no idea how to add your name to your profile using the phone app but it's easy on a computer. Just go to Account Settings in the top right and then Edit Your Details. You'll see 'First name' near the bottom.
