Hello to all,

I just joined the forum, as it kept coming up in the search results when I was trying to find a manual for an ELU Band-saw, which I have just inherited.
I need a manual for the band-saw please.
So if anyone has an ELU EBS 3401 Bandsaw, and a manual, (or even just the manual!) I wonder if I could ask for photocopies by post or a scanned version of it by email?

I promise not to base my everlasting impression of the forum on the basis of whether or not I can get what I am looking for here. But it would certainly help.

Cheers from Dublin, Ireland.

Tony, you might try looking in our power tools reference section, not to be confused with our router reference section. The PDF of the manual may already be there. If not perhaps one of our UK members has a lead on where to find it.

Hello Gaffboat,

That user name is a very familiar part of my own lexicon.

I am a member of the DBOGA Dublin Bay Old Gaffers Association, which in turn is affiliated to the (UK) OGA. Its the 50th anniversary of the OGA association (Jubilee) this year and most of the Old Gaffers clubs in Ireland and the UK are having some sort of celebratory event or regatta. Our own event, which is based in the Poolbeg YBC, which is right in the city centre on the river Liffey, will be on over the weekend of May 31st to June 3rd.
It promises to be a great affair with gaff rigged boats (mostly old work-boats) and some Tall Ships all cruising up and down the Liffey and racing (gaffer style). Everyone gets to berth up in the Poolbeg YBC right in the Liffey mouth and entertainment will be provided nightly. The main OGA website on the web is for the OGA head office in the UK, but there are links to all the other OGA clubs around Britain and Ireland, including our own. If you're interested in Gaff rigged boats, it would pay to check up on the main OGA website beforehand to find out what events are on in the various clubs around the UK and Ireland and also some membership in Holland. You'll be warmly welcomed no matter where you go, but natural bias would have me say that the warmest welcome you could hope to receive would be at the Dublin Bay Old Gaffers Association. So next time you visit, drop us a line first and we'll probably accommodate you on a boat, at least while you're in Dublin anyway. Saves on hotel bills.

Cheers,
Tony

Thank you for that Bob.
That was exactly the info that I needed.
With no results coming up on the web anymore for ELU brand, it took me some time and persistence to work out that ELU bacame a Black & Decker operation and then it would appear that ELU brand items became either DEWALT or one other possibility.
It looks like the DEWALT 738/739 Bandsaw is the re-branded ELU EBS 3401 Bandsaw, so I managed to download a PDF manual for that and I now know I can buy parts for the DEWALT one to fit my ELU one.

This router forum has been a great source for me in resolving this.

Thanks to all.

Tony
