Name's Karl and I am getting started in woodworking. Not new to it but I hardly call using scrap pine for shelves or bases for machines, woodworking. Not new to using a router either but I learned how to use one to fabricate Carbon Graphite, Kevlar, and fiberglass laminates and structures. They don't behave in the same manner as wood. So yeah. I'm a newbie. So many things I want to build and a router is a wonderful tool to make things easier.

My Shop consist of a Dewalt planer, a vintage radial arm saw and a lathe (both craftsman and over 40 years old) and an old Ryobi table saw. I am looking forward to learning and swapping stories both success and learning.

I realized after about 10 years in the Navy (I was a structural mechanic on aircraft) that the one thing that brought me the most joy was having the ability to take raw materials and make something useful or just nice to look at. That still holds true for me so that is one of my addictions. My old GPz 750 and 3000GT VR4 are my others. Needless to say, I have amassed a rather sizable array of tools for all manner of disciplines.

Brother, I heard it said, "... when we quit learning, we die". No clue as to who this is attributed to or if it was ever even an actual quote but it makes a lot of sense to me. No doubt there is a LOT of knowledge to soak up on this forum. Seems like a great ride to me!
