I came across this site looking to rebuild a hand planer and looks like a great place to join and get some expert advice. I do a lot of router work building small boxes among other projects, love my router!
I think I have a complete wood shop with everything I need except a jointer that's why I wanted to re-build a hand planer and start using it more.
I look forward to being a member here it looks like a great group to belong to. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum, Fred! Add your first name to your profile so it clears the N/a in the side panel.

We do like photos so show us your shop, tools, projects, etc. whenever you're ready.

You picked a good group. The old timers around here don't always clean our shops before taking pictures.

Welcome Fred. This is a group comprised of various levels of expertise. You'll usually have answers or at least some relative reading in short order after posting your questions. Some of us don't read as well as we should so we do enjoy a picture story to explain the question/answer.

Stick, thanks for the attachments. I have used my router as a jointer and works very well. The tuning pdf is good I'll print it and keep it in the shop. I'm thinking about a cheap computer for the shop, easier to keep and file information rather than a stack of papers. Thank again!

Same here, if done correctly it will have a better edge than a joiner can provide (well any bench style joiner).
Welcome to the forum Fred.
