Good afternoon. Total Newby here retired and trying to stay active. I just purchased a couple router jigs and can use some help . first is a Porter Cable 5116 Omni jig and the other is a MILL-ROUTE table.
Glad you joined the fun. Read, reread the instructions, watch videos, that style jig is really tricky. I once watched someone who was an accomplished woodworker spend an hour and never get the dovetails to fit together properly.using that rig. I prefer the newer style dovetail jig where you move the wood and jig over a table mounted router instead of moving the router over the jig and boards. Do cut a few extra parts for your projects so you can fiddle with the setup until it's right.
Woodworking is a great way to spend a retirement. Me too.
