Hello, I’m hoping for some insight on this router. I wanted something more powerful for my router table to replace the old Maktek one I’ve had for awhile.
i had been periodically checking FB marketplace and found this old hitachi for $75 so I grabbed it today. Figured I didn’t have much to lose at that price.
I had assumed that watts were the best indicator of power, based on my festool 2200 being regarded as one of the more powerful routers out there. And the big Makita router being 2150w.
But looking up other routers with this model name, I’m seeing that some of them have 15 amps but this one is only 10. Which is a better gauge of horsepower, amps or watts? And is this fairly weak for router table usage?
