No Mark. I just got one recently from Amazon and the label on the box and the router says made in Malaysia. So I shot few emails to several other retailers asking them what the box or the router says and so far everyone has stated in Malaysia. I wouldn’t have even notice the label if it hadn’t been for the base which looks different than the old ones.
I know Dewalt Dw625 was changed not sure when but I bought mine in 93 an the base is completely different now and the thread size. Not sure where it’s being made these days.
They havn't made them in Japan in years. I called Hitachi and talked with them. they said they wanted to keep cost down. Check your base plate / straight guide holes and make sure the guide goes all the way through. mine is defective and I'm returning the router for exchange. very cheaply made base now. makes you wonder about the motor. it's good thing it still has 5 year warranty. if the second one is defective, I'll go with Fein while it's still being made in Germany.
