Hi Kennymi,
Welcome aboard. Glenmore is right about checking out Oak-Park. You can save yourself a lot of head aches by NOT bolting your router to the underside of your bench. It is a real pain to change a router bit or make an adjustment with the router bolted to the table top. With an Oak-Park base plate mounted on your router and a rebate cut into your table top, there is no need to bolt it down. The weight of the router will keep it in place. When you need to change the bit, just lift it out, make the change, and drop it back in. If you want to use it hand held, just lift it out and use it.
As for the extra parts that came with your router, they are probably the edge guide (fence) and a guide bushing & screws. If you change the base plate, you won't be able to use the guide bushing that came with it. Oak-Park also has those (a bit pricey). A better choice for the bushings would be http://www.leevalley.com/home.aspx .
I hope this was helpful. If you have more questions, this forum is the place to get great advice......Good Luck!
