A while back I bought some Birch Plywood from HD had a small bolt in it chipped a tooth. Last week bought a new $50.00 blade and Birch Plywood from HD this time there was a piece of metal banding in it. Took the blade and the wood in to HD talked to the Managers all they offered was 50% of a new blade! No more HD for me!

I'm sorry you found out about their wood quality this way. You will not have any better luck at Lowe's. Home centers carry the lowest quality wood they can find to keep the price down. Their 4' x 8' sheets of plywood has lots of voids in them and at times as you found other undesireable debris. Support your local lumberyard. Will you pay a bit more? Most likely yes. Is it worth the difference? You bet it is. For smaller sizes than a quarter sheet (2' x 4') you might want to buy the baltic birch plywood from Rocklers or Woodcraft.

I will buy all my lumber from the local lumber yard. You get what you pay for... It just burns me up that even after seeing the wood and the damaged blade all they wood offer was a discount... the least they could have done was replace the blade.
On a good note my table and PRL lift is due to arrive tomorrow:)
Here's what I did and it worked for me.
After numerous attempts to get a tool replaced at a major chain store under their famous 100% replacement policy only to get the run-around, I put the situation up on another forum and got 6 pages of complaints all about the same company. I printed all 6 pages and sent a covering letter to the head office.
It took a couple of days for the letter and the six pages to get to head office after which I got a very contrite call from the department head of the local outlet asking me if I'd like to come in and pick out the tool of my choice.
Remember the old adage about the squeeking wheel getting the grease.

I too have had it with HD. They do not keep parts or help when one of the tools that I bought there broke down. When I asked the guy at the tool department, he strongly recommended a local tool store who denied all knowledge of Ryobi parts!. brukitch
i work at home depot and the tool department is not that good Most of the people their dont have the knowledge of most of the tools I am not in the tool department but get over their to help We have a service place that does the warrenty on all the tool's That is where we send people that have problums Or replace the tool On the blade that was ruined They could have replace it Most of the ass. Managers dont have that much athority to do that If you got the store manager he could have done that If not the district manager sure would have done that their is a chain of command If one dont do it that move up the ladder I see so much bull !!!!! every day Oh well just a few more Mo. and retire Than they can stick it thank for reading
