I have this x,y table I would like to use with my router to make a mortise jig. I made a simple one before. Basically a box with my router base mounted to a 1/2 board that was then mounted to the side of the box. It would pivot for height adjustment. Pretty simple.
That was my first router jig and really the only thing I used my router for.
With the base off I can get more reach in pieces that are not flat. I saw a few videos of mortise jigs with the router mounted in various ways. Quite a few with the base off and mounted with a clamp.
I decided to glue some scraps together and make a clamp. I think I went overkill... I'm willing to change my mounting/clamping setup.
I would like to have vertical adjustment. Advice here would be greatly appreciated. And my idea with the x,y table is to mount a board to the top with toggle clamps to hold my small parts.
Thank you for your help and I look forward to your ideas.
