Moved to AZ from IL. in 1981, but have been a Pakrat, Dumpster Diver and Fixer Upper all my life. Hate to see things thrown away if they can be fixed and saved for another day. When I restore my projects, usually Vintage woodworking or metal working machines; I then Post them on VintageMachines.org. Website for all to see and maybe use my pictures for their Research as I use theirs for my research. And if my experience can help someone else, that's Great, but I must admit, I'm No Expert on anything, I just learn by "doing" and have the scars to prove it. However my restoring is getting slower and slower as I age, but I still like the Challenge once in a while to break the monotony of Life. Here's an Easy Speed Calculator for Motor rpm, motor Pulley size, Driven Pulley size and resulting Speed.

My how things change. My first drill press used belts and pulleys to change speed. But those are long-gone. My newer DP has an numeric rpm readout. Much more pleasant to use. But it sounds like a very enjoyable process.

BTW, welcome to the forum. Lots of folks here will really enjoy seeing any pictures may have. There are a few gadget loving woodworkers.
