That's not exactly a current/modern firearm!!!!! I would have really liked my FIL's almost mint copy but my BIL ended up with it and sold it way too cheap to a 'buddy'

There are a couple of gun stock sellers on line that advertise replacements. You might want to touch base with one of them and if possible, have them make up a blank for at least a starting point if you want something different. You also will probably have to differentiate between the rifle and carbine plus make sure that it is indeed a '98 and not a '96. My faint recollection is that some of the original stocks split under that box magazine where it thins way down

Be careful that you don't alter the firearm itself as it would decrease the value. Keep it original with the new custom stock and keep the original stock. There used to be several makers of stocks that were 90% finished but they have gone the way of the dinosaur and the nickel beer. Do a search on the 'Net for unfinished gun stocks.
