Over time, dust and chips do build up on the router and lift mechanism under the Incra table even with the Cleansweep box installed. I would suspect that the previous poster who answered is correct that inadequate dust collection has something major to do with your problem. I always attach the CleanSweep port to my cyclone dust collector instead of the vac I own. The vac, even though one of the best, just doesn't generate enough air volume movement to such the dust right through.

I do get dust buildup on the router lift threads and mechanism but only over a longer period of time. The router lift and router should be pulled out periodically for cleaning maintenance. However, this should not be a problem each time you use it.

Do you use the Incra recommended slotted throatplates with the lift? They improve the air flow a lot and don't interfere with use.

Dust Collection in the Fence

Dust collection using the port on the Incra Wonder Fence does improve the result, but only when the bit is near or partially buried in the fence. If the bit is completely exposed connection to the fence port is of no use in dust collection.

The slotted throat plates that Incra sells improve downward airflow significantly. They are called the CleanSweep Magnalock Rings.
