Logging on as a newbie...not to routing- but to the forum. I'm looking to replace a 15 year old-3HP RYOBI 600-E plunge router under my table- and considering a 2-1/4 HP fixed base router to take its place.
I like the idea of a new feature found in several models- allowing above the table bit/height adjustment...I believe both Milwaukee and Porter Cable offer this feature, maybe others. I am assuming bit changes will still require under the table effort -or motor release and above the table wrenching?
Any advice/experience with the ease of operation on such routers- and whether or not a below-base dust collection port, switch accessibility, and/or any other features or lack thereof should sway my decision?
