Greetings to all,

I'm a savvy woodworker, though novice, and am planning to build a CNC wood router table .
I look forward to receiving feedback, and offering my thoughts concerning wood and building
projects as well .

The initial question I have concerns gantry actuation of a router . . I saw a used gantry for sale
today, which would be stout enough for wood routing - however, the router would travel via a
worm-gear with quite a large lead / pitch . Is there a standard or ideal pitch for worm-gears used
in this application ?

My appreciation for your response(s),
and I look forward to being an active
member of the RF community ~

Welcome to the forum.
You might want to repost your question in the cnc section. You might have a better chance at someone with an answer seeing it.
