Well I like our laser but I am not sure I would call it affordable, I know I could not afford one at home.

If it's just for engraving or very light cutting your might want to look at a diode laser. The Ortur Laser Master 2 in either 15w or 20w.
They will give you more of a work surface than a lot of CO2 desktop models also.
