Good news Harry! I have had mine for about 1 1/2 years now and have used it dozens and dozens of times and it has performed perfectly. Now that is not to say the one you get will be every bit as good

I have seen many others on different forums post positives on this model, so I would think it is one of those diamonds in the rough from HF.

mine is not a hf, but its a less expensive model ordered from amazon. mine was 39 bucks.

i would not be scared of the one from hf. of course i have bought from them many times.

the statement you made about using it one time, i think you will find may be wrong. i use my pin nailer all the time and have found it to be an indespensible part of my shop and woodworking.

when it wears out, i will get a replacement asap. i love my pin nailer!

 

Before Dad died he gave me many of his tools most of which came from HF. I have a brad nailer and it works great, only problem with the one I have is no safty of any kind!! That crazy thing will shoot any time the triger is pulled. Don't know which one it is so just be aware and check it out.

You may be right about me using it. My son has been pushing me to get one for years. He is on his third one, but he has a cabinet shop!

I can't speak about other nailers but I bought the PC 23ga unit. I needed to punch a few brads, so I figured I'd try it off of my 7 gal air tank. I filled the tank to 120psi, installed a regulator set to about 70lb and two strips of nails later (testing) I still had 80psi.

I now have a compressor but, for incidental pinning it uses so little air I could have lived with the tank, if that was my only use.

If the pin nailer is anything like the brad nailer, get yourself some GOOD O rings for it. Those Chinese don't know how to make them yet.

 

I have that Pin Nailer, and hav'nt had any trouble with it. I also have their brad/stapler combo gun thats always on sale under $20. I got it just for a stapler. and it has worked great as well. I tend to stay away from their power tools anymore. But the air tools hav'nt failed me yet, and there dirt cheap.

 

Well, just returned from HF with the pin nailer. I want to thank you all for stirring me in the right direction, without your input, I would have most likey passed it over for a brand name one. To my surprise it looks and feels well made. Shot 30 or so 5/8" pins into a 1/2" white oak plank. Not a single one bent or tried to follow the grain. Heads were well below the surface, hard to even find the hole. Very nice!!!!! I can see why you like them.

+1 also on the HF pin nailer. So far, so good. The only leak was back at the air fitting, had to pull out their fitting, re-tape and insert.

And remember, there is almost ALWAYS a 10% to 20% off one item coupon for HF available. Google for Harbor Freight Coupon and check the first few links. Most of the time, these can be stacked onto any other sale price currently in effect at the store.

 

I got mine a bout 8 mo,s ago and have not had a single problem at all. 1 trick I learned was to apply a drop of water over the pinholes before sanding. They completely disappear.

Right On,,the drop of water will expand the wood fibers ,just like most nails they will push the wood fibers to one side unlike a drill will do..that trick will also work with some of the brad nails if they are set into the stock it takes a bit longer over night the norm.. a 50/50 mix of vinegar and bottle water works well...
