Got the first orders done that came in Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday plus what sold from the display. Still got 12 more custom orders sitting here plus a couple "requests from friends". And have to keep the display stocked. Nothing expensive so far. People seem to have limited their purchases to the $10-40 range this year.

You are FAR more prolific than I will ever be! LOL! Nice job on all those, John.

Nice work. Question: do you have a sample book that shows all of the patterns you have for signs? Not just pictures of items you've made, by computer images of possible designs? Not sure how your software works, but if it allows you to print a graphic image of every possible design, you could put in lots of variations and even stuff you could but don't currently stock? This sales and sample book would allow people to see items they COULD order from you and maybe even produce items with personalized copy. You could start accumulating these images, then put them into a Word document, then print it to a pdf (I use Cute PDF for that), then you can put this catalogue up on a facebook business page.

Add an order form showing the item number, the words you would like on it, plus a way to reach them. If there are size options, list them. How many words will fit will be an issue, but you can use a long string of small boxes they write their message in to set a limit. This sounds like a lot of work, but you build it up gradually, starting with popular items. As you make new items, shoot pictures and sub them in to replace the drawings.

You could also look for items that fit the region you're exhibiting in, for example for an Italian area, some pizza designs. And for impulse items, some 4 to 6 inch Round Tuits.

Excellent commercial advices, Tom.
Too much work Tom

I'm having a hard enough time keeping up with what I do now. But I'm slowly accumulating things. Thinking of getting a little more serious after the first of the year with the website, Etsy store, and display. Wife committed us to go to Florida the week before Xmas. Sure is screwing up hunting season and sawdust making!!! But I said "Of course I'd love to go." Happy Wife Happy Life.

Hi John,

You know how I am about marketing stuff. Can't help myself. I could use a few of those Tuits though.

On top of trying to heal from your fall, you seem to have been a busy elf. All I've done in the past month has been sit in front of this computer and design projects for other people to cut.

That new to me CNC is still sitting on the floor inside the shop right where I unloaded it and I would really like to see how well it cuts. Looks like it will be next year before I am able to get it put in place, check it out and install the new spindle. I hope I can find some time to design a few projects to cut on it in the meantime.
Mike,

You're just too good for your own well being. I'd rather have you designing and making files and leave that nasty sawdust alone.

Hi John,

I could use a few of those Tuits though.
MT Stringer, I believe, made some a while back. He should be able to run you off some.
Nice work as always John . I love the “saw dust is man glitter” , that’s a good one.

The top left one that’s kind of vertical with a type of Star in the middle . I like the deep cut . What is it exactly, polish related?

Rick it looks like a Compass Rose to me in the center of a Cribbage Board. I like it too!

I could use at least four. One for the shop, one for the office and two for my wife. >:)

That's a compass in the center of a cribbage. Lady got it for her Navy husband. They play a lot of cribbage on the ship.
