Jewelry Hangers for Jewelry Armoire

613 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Nickp
I am trying to finish up an Jewelry Armoire. The sides are swing out doors that are going to hold Jewelry Hangers to hold necklaces and/or braclets. Attached are two pictures. The question is do you think that 10 degrees is enough angle to keep necklaces or braclets from falling off when closing the door or when opening the door. I made a little jig to hold the hanger at 10 degrees and cut half inch holes. The hangers are one quarter inch oak dowel and the length is 1.25 inches. That leaves about three quarters of an inch to hand jewelry on.

Do you think 10 degrees is enough or should I go to 15 degrees?

Thanks

I would say yes but why not sticky tape it to a door and give that puppy a swing...then you'll know for sure. Don't use the expensive jewelry...

I used brass hooks for the one I did...it hangs on to the ones that are on the hook and it also self-limits how many can go on the same hook...
I've used the wooden toy car axle pegs for this. They have a little nub on the end that helps keep necklaces from falling off. I didn't even angle the peg holes and they worked well.

They are available on Amazon
