But it looks interesting. Had a router fir years and never understood this tool and its capabilities. Total amateur who gardens cooks and works on cars and works.

Happy you found us. The router is a very versatile tool. Lots of videos on youtube show how it's used, although many violate some basic safety rules or have removed cutter guards so you can see better.
There are quite a few good, used books on routers on Amazon. The are very helpful too.
