Very nice, John. You seem to be answering questions I've had in mind before I get a chance to ask anyone. This one is "Is that aluminum?" and "if so, did you make the blank, or find a place to buy them?". I have some ideas for aluminum belt buckles, and have been looking for some premade blanks to engrave. Thanks.

Jim that is a preview picture out of John's Aspire software.
What Mike said.

But you should be able to find blank belt buckles. Ali Baba probably has them, but you have to order several hundred , or thousand. Keep digging.

Thanks, Mike. I've become so used to John's outstanding stuff that I thought that was the actual project.

Yeah, the huge amounts are all I've found so far. Not worth it to only make 3 or 4 gifts. Thanks.
Here are several choices depending on how you want to go.

Thanks, Mike. The ones I'm seeing so far say they're made of zinc alloy. I don't quite know what that is, but I'm thinking it wouldn't be suitable for cnc carving. Any idea?
Minor point, but Harp strings are almost always vertical, not diagonal.

Not Irish harps. Look at the Guinness label.

You can use something like the tandy leather blanks and carve a wood buckle then bond to the blank. That is what most of my buckle designs are based on.
