Morning guys.
My apologies if I have offended anyone here. This unit was bought new by my grandmothers second husband, Mike Benner. Mike used it for years until he passed away, and them my grandma tinkered with it a little, but did not have the skill set to operate the machine as it was designed. She did mostly scroll saw work as a hobby. My grandmother has sense passed on, and I am certain is now in the presence of the Lord. As her age prevented her from doing any woodworking she passed the unit on to me. I have been in the construction industry for 25 years, and did quite a bit of finish carpentry work when I was younger. It was my intention to set up the machine and use it, but after receiving the unit and determining the learning curve of becoming proficient with it, I have decided to let someone else enjoy the machine. I invest my time in other things, and don't the spare time to learn and use a machine with the capacities that this one has. My uncle who works with mesquite wood down in Texas had the machine set up and running, and created some beautiful pieces with it. But circumstances be as they are, he decided not to keep it.
I did a little market research before listing the item, but there was not much to be found on the current market value of this unit. I saw a guy post and sell one last year for 3k, but to be honest, I don't know what he had for additional pieces/parts compared to this one. And it seems there is quite a bit of accessory parts that can be purchased for creating different finished products. If the price is unfair, I would certainly entertain wisdom from those in the know about such things, because as stated, I am not in the know.
I can unwrap more of the parts, if someone is interested is seeing what all is there. The parts are wrapped in red in the original pictures, as they were when they came back from Texas. My intent is not to be unfair with the sale, but to move the unit to someone that will use it. I see Tim has an Oliver in his profile picture, and even though I am a John Deere guy, I would even be willing to sell the unit to him. ;-) My original post that contained my silly statement with my desire to sell it for 10k was just a sad attempt at humor, and I know that those things get lost when presented in text without the benefit of a sly grin or slight chuckle.
So, If the price is out of line, please let me know. I would like to sell the unit as a whole, as I have no use for any of the parts by themselves.
Thank you, praying you have a blessed day.
