Light bulb for B-D 7614

I have an older B-D 7614 and the small wedge shaped light bulb in base is blown. Does anyone know where and how to purchase a new one? I am awaiting a reply from B-D currently.

- I crashed into a total dead end looking for a replacement bulb. The bulb part number 144407-00 is obsolete and not replaced by any number bulb I could find. Likely as not you won't get much joy from B&D either. Sadly, no luck finding a picture of the bulb or voltage either to find a non-B&D substitute.

- might have better luck fishing a used one out of the 'Bay' and have a light and spare parts ...

All the bulbs of that type that I have found are low voltage
Welcome to the forum.
Welcome to the forum, @maxtur
Welcome to the forum. You may want to check the voltage at the bulb socket with a volt meter. It may be a 12 or 24 volt bulb. I don't recall anyone making a wedge type 110 volt bulb. They sometimes use the field winding of the motor as a dropping resistor. If it is you could use an automotive bulb like these. 194 bulb at Walmart
If you could pull the bulb out and send a picture. I may be able to identify it for you. Maybe that will help you out.

I have 3 of the B&D 7614 routers and I just looked at the bulb and it is a GE-147.
you can find the specs on just about any website and where to order it from. (or buy local).
CAUTION: there is only one screw to remove the bulb cover do not remove the two on the small housing.
IF you do, there is only one way to put the long screw back in. (learned that trick on my own).

Part is #144407-00. Reference #74. Shows obsolete from B&B. Depending on the wattage, you might be able to use a You would have to remove the bulb and check to see if there's another # and the watt. If you have a Radio Shack in your area. They may have a bulb to match. Looks vary similar to a GE 194.

I would go with John he has the same machine. The GE147 bulb is a 7 volt bulb. The GE 194 is a 12 volt bulb. The 194 would work but it would be much dimmer.
