Any chance of finding a router expert to help us set up a few routing stations for our picture frame business? Also, possibly supply the manpower to do the work. Our fulfillment house (Anixter Center) isn't allowed to use cutting tools. Need two rounded slots--one centered in top, another centered in side. Starting with 4K frames.

See attached pics: One is the original prototype I made with a biscuit cutter. Works fine with our rounded hanger, but it's not very elegant. The 'specs' pic shows how we can use a larger cutter bit.

Fingers crossed, someone can help us out. [email protected]

Mary Ann, there are a wide variety of slot cutters available; perhaps you would care to specify what size you need? If you visit woodcraft.com and rockler.com you can check to see if there is a store close to you. The stores often have a list of local craftsmen looking for work. You can find low cost slot cutters/arbors at MLCS.com with free shipping. Rockler sells a small router table that uses a trim router, this should be perfect for your application

I'm not sure I follow you on this Dan? Clamping jigs and fixtures is commonplace; the bit is guarded... this is a good solution.
