well I was gonna try and clean out the switch

I had read how to do it.

I couldn't get the switch out - so then I took out the other 2 screws -- and lifted off the, what apparently is the whole motor -- the 2 pins or magnet slide together and now can't put it back together.

any advice -- after getting a good laff ... hahaha, I hope get this project finished eventually.

do I have to send the router back in? can I get what appears to be the 2 magnets or whatever pulled back out? is there any chance of getting shocked ( yes it is of course unplugged )

what say the crowd ? and thanks!!!

The two springie thingies are probably the brushes...take the caps out, take out the brushes, remember their orientation and slap it back together...they'll be out of the way when you reassemble...then put the brushes back in and put the caps back on...

Welcome to the forum...

Welcome to the forum Seaside. I also think Nick nailed it but more info would be good. Router model is important and a picture or two wouldn't hurt. You can upload pictures into your post as long as they are in your computers hard drive. To do that you click on Go Advanced - then find Manage Attachments - then Browse to find the file - Open it - wait a few seconds for it to show in your Browse list - then Upload. Once it has uploaded you can Close Window and post your reply.
