Made These Nightstands for My Daughter

1847 Views 13 Replies 11 Participants Last post by  mbrun
So my daughter wanted some bed room furniture. I asked her what style she wanted. In the end she wanted simple appearance. See send me photos of the style she wanted. I visited the store from where she took the photos to get more acquainted. In the end I built her a set of night stands that are true to the look she wanted but built to last. I told her that they will outlive her and I. I will be making the matching dresser soon.

Yes, very nice. When you are long gone she will look at them and remember you!

way more than agreed..
1.54 million husband points for those very nice tables. Of course that won't get you through anything but a minor scrape with the Mrsses. I like that you went to the trouble to put in long drawer slides.
+1 what they all said.
Really nice work Michael. Loving the dovetail joint on the drawers also. They don’t make em like that at the Brick

Used Baltic Birch ply for the drawer boxes. Love that material. Looks wonderful when lightly oiled, heavily waxed or just clear coated. The finished edges of that ply are a nice design element and cool to look at.

Michael, great looking night stands. I gave up on plywood dovetails long ago but you seem to have them nailed. I'm guessing the BB Ply makes the difference and now that I have a project with a few decent scraps of BB Ply I'll go revisit. From your shop pics it looks like you use a Leigh dovetail jig?
BB ply makes all the difference in the world...
Nice solid tables, Michael.
Thank you.
