Makita 3600 Spare Part

3404 Views 25 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  Cherryville Chuck
HI,

I dropped my Makita 3600 yesterday and broke the top, black depth adjustment knob on the top.

It looks that part is no longer available.

If anyone out there has that part available, I would gladly pay for it and its postal charges.

I live in Sydney, Australia.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Fred and welcome. One of our members in Perth is a Makita fan and has some older ones. I’ll make sure he sees this.

Hello Harry.

Looks like Christmas came two months early!

That's a really generous offer, but please let me pay the postage.

I'll update my profile now with my address. Thanks to everyone.

What a great forum!

I shall post it to you tomorrow Adrian and please accept it as a present but please do confirm when you receive it. The last part, a switch was never even acknowledged by the member.

Can't get to a regular page. Stuck in googleville again
The parcel is on it's way Adrian, the tracking # is R607136026382937.
included is a 35mm template guide, the last one I made before health issues reard their ugly head.
There certainly is a problem with the forum this morning, nothing looks the same, Chrome. Firefox and IE are all the same. I hope this and one to Adrian really are posted.
Nice gesture Harry.

What model 3600 do you have fredgassit? I bought the M3600G and put it in a table and it works a treat.
Hello Harry,

Thank you yet again for your "presents".

I'll let you know as soon as they arrive.

Hypnotoad,

It's a 3600B (square base) which I bought for my father about 40 years ago. It performs like new.
Here’s a member who likes Makita as much as you do Harry. Too bad you’re on opposite sides of Oz.

Hi Harry,
I am sorry if this is not appropriate on this thread, but I am not sure where to post this question - I read one of the previous threads about a replacement switch for the 3600B (I think your reference above is to that thread). Anyway, I am in the same boat, I think - I ordered the switch (651472-8) from the e-replacement parts for my 3600B, and it is a tad too big for the space it has to go into. The other switches 651437 are only single pole single throw (there are only two connections on the switch), so how did it work on the 3600BR? My 3600B has 4 wires going to the switch? And, as the previous poster about this question indicated, the original switch 6514003 is not even listed anywhere on the 'net that I could find! Do you have any suggestions?

thanks
Mike:smile:
The switch that I sent to the member was from a 3600BR single pole single throw . There are available from all electronic parts stores more toggle switches than you can poke a stick at. I would be amazed if you couldn't find one to fit your Makita 3600B

Hi Harry,
Thank you for the reply and the link!! My previous searches online did return a bunch of hits, but unfortunately, there does not seem to be reliable information on the seller sites as to the dimensions!

I have already bought the 651472-8 and it is quite a bit larger than the space available for the switch. Nevertheless, I will press on:)

Thank you again
Mike
The ideal of course is to take the faulty switch into electronics parts stores or even parts dept of other brands of power tools. Aliexpress stock a large range of toggle switches.
I it proves impossible to get a suitable one and the router is table mounted, then you could by-pass the switch, block the hole and use an external switched socket as I and probably most routologists do.
