A way of setting stops, so you can move the track an exact amount to let you cut rabbets dados wider than your router bit would be my best recommendation. I also cut them in several passes to keep the load down on the router. Being able to increment the track accurately is going to be very necessary. Setting up stops for each end of the track on the keeper side and then placing blocks against the stops for the distance needed to make the second/last pass. Then after the first pass you can remove these blocks and set the track against the stops for the next/last pass.
