I am setting up my Milwaukee 5615-29 router to use to cut dovetails. I have never done this before. I have the guide need for this job but I believe the base that came with my router needs to be changed to one that fits my guide. Am I correct? Where can I buy one of these bases?

The 5615/16 was supplied with PC/PC subbase that accepts the default PC guide collar system.
If you find that unacceptable, I have one that is adjustable.
(PC = Porter Cable and = Polycarbonate)
