Hello,
I am still somewhat new to this forum but I have learned a lot from reading the threads. I picked up a Craftsman 315.17380 router today cheap that looked like it needed a good home and did notice the height adjustment was not functioning correctly but figured it was no big, maybe just gummed up. After getting it home, cleaning it up and ripping it apart I found out that the height adjustment pinion is missing, that will do it. I believe this part is no longer available from Craftsman so if anyone has one from a donor router please PM me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

I Have Part

My Router # 315.17380 I've used for 40 years died last week. I would have gone in this week's trash, but I saw your note. I've attached a photo of the whole assembly. I guessing you only need the small gear in the middle. Send me money for postage and it is yours.

Hi Jim - thoughtful offer but according to Todds' profile he hasn't visited us for awhile. You might try sending him a personal message.

Jim,
Thanks for the offer. I had not check my PMs for some time. Has anyone bothered to attempt replacing the bearings on these old Craftsman routers? I am not sure it is worth the trouble and expense. if so does anyone know what the p/n for the bearing and approximate cost is on this bearing? I am hoping it is a ten dollar item from McMaster Carr. I would like to at least learn how to do it since my Bosch 1617 is due for a bearing replacement as well. Thanks.
