somebody used pledge on the table or the like and the table is contaminated w/ silicone...
the silicone is now in the wood fibers...
the fine sanding isn't helping you here... it's closing the cells..
drop back to 120.. then start w/ finding out which solvent is going to work to get the silicone out of the wood's...
washing w/ solvent should have been step #1...
too fine of a sanding w/ set you back too...
stop at around a 120 grit to leave the pores open and something for the finish to grip...
progressive fine(er) sanding(s) is done between coats of top coat...

Note:sanding too fine from the get go will contribute tremendously to your problems...
