Time for my second router project but I need a table. I will be building a drop in extension for my contractor Rigid table saw and want to buy a plate for my Bosch 1617.

I'm trying to decide between the Bosch RA1171 and the Rockler Pro which might be more precise and adaptable for whatever future projects might come along.

One thing to consider is to look ahead to the time (and it will come!) when you want to replace a simple router/drop in plate with a router lift. There are no standard dimensions for router plates, so, for example, the recess you make for the Bosch plate would be incompatible with a Rockler lift, and a Rockler plate recess is incompatible with a Jessem or Kreg lift. You can always build a new table extension for a lift, but moving up to a lift is a lot easier if you stay with the same recess dimensions.
