can I talk you into a 1619 for the table also???
make sure you order them as kits.. standard and plunge bases...
you know, you can't go wrong w/ the reconditioned tools... very safe bet...
their CS/TS is like no other...
can I talk you into a 1619 for the table also???Been a long time since I posted here but have followed somewhat over the last couple of years. I am now in need of a new router since the last of my Bosch 16o4's has died.
I plan to order a 1617 and a Colt tomorrow 1/2/18 fom CPO unless you all talk me into something else.
will be used both hand held and in a table.
Is there a much better alternative for the price? I will at some point buy another for a dedicated table router. The Colt is is in anticipation of the demise of my well loved Ryobi Tr3o.
Thanks

+1 What Tom said.1617 EVSPK for sure. Later for the table, I give the nod to Triton TRA001. Wonderful table machine, power to spare, easy to adjust, self locking for one wrench bit changes. I'm sure there are many other great routers out there, but after searching like mad, those are the ones in my shop. Oh yes, and the Colt, which is a pleasure to use hand held.
DC also is included w/ the edge guides...The Triton has a built in dust port for connecting a hose. For the Bosch, a separate accessory is available that connects to the router base.

I was building cabinet doors. The rail and stile router bit set has two separate bits, so I set up one in each router. That way I didn't have to change out the bits.Mike,
I'm not a seasoned pro, forgive my naivete', but why would you need two routers attached to a single table?
Or more! :grin::grin:"Just so I wouldn't have to take the table router out..." and not having to change setups when using multiple bits in one router. Pretty much sums up why we buy second full sized routers.
