Hi,

I'm Nick. Been woodworking as a serious hobby for about a year, thought about it for years before I built up the confidence to just have a go, and massively attracted to build your own, rather than go to Ikea.

Obsessed with Makita tools, and Japanese craftsmanship.

Welcome aboard Nick. Pictures are always welcome to see what you are doing. Feel free to share.
Nick, have you built anything for your cat(s)? How many cats?

I mostly build cat stuff, that's what got me into wood working 3 years ago. Not only do the cats enjoy it but it's a great way to learn wood, it's at a smaller scale, there is a cat project/design for every skill level, less expectation of perfection etc.

Glad you decided to join the fun. I also love Japanese woodworking technique. Hand tool work is always a pleasure. Japanese pull saws are so much easier to control than standard push style conventional saws, and their pull planes also make a lot of sense.

When a member clicks on the icon of another member's submission, that member's location is shown. For example, if you were to click on the green icon of MYB506
you would see he is from Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Not all member's locations are shown when this is done. I'm thinking that it would be helpful to know from where someone is submitting. In some cases it would be helpful in locating services or availability of items in an area when or if responding, pointing the questioner in a favourable direction. It would also reduce the anonymity of members without actually exposing their actual address, which I think creates a closer relationship of brothers/sisters on this forum.
I'm always curious. I like to Google a person's city or state just to see the sights, points of interest, and general lay of the land. Some of us live in cities, some in towns, and some like wide open spaces. There are beautiful regions all over the world. Just an idle thought. Have a good life.

Worthy words! :geek:
Welcome to the forum, Nick.
Glad you joined this club. Here you'll find a lot of persons willing to help each other. As Sreily wrote, we like pictures related to the projects we're working on.
